- me: okay i may be crazy but i feel like the wardrobe in falsettos might mean something. because for the majority of act one, everyone wears the same outfit. and not because it’s the same day throughout act one because in the song “please come to our house” whizzer sings “the psychiatrist returning, returning, 5 sessions later” so that means that the characters are wearing the same outfit for a period of time. the only time someone changes an outfit(and not metaphorically as they do in March of the falsettos) is when Trina decides to “change her life.” and marry Mendel. It may be signifying that everyone in the first act is trying to fit in their original assigned roles. And they don’t believe they can be anything that they already are, which could be because Marvin if forcing everyone around him into stereotypes and roles that benefits himself. And Trina deciding to marry Mendel is the first step to breaking the mold that Marvin has forcefully created for everyone. And in act 2, when everyone has about moved on from Marvin’s mania and decided their roles for themselves, THATS when the wardrobes start switiching daily. As if they’re finally accepting that they don’t have be one thing or fit into one role for the rest of their lives. that they themselves are the true decider of how they want their life to be, and they become their own indivually multifaceted selves.

how to: make your skin glow ✨
-exfoliate on a regular basis. this is KEY to making your skin glow. some ways to exfoliate are:
*physical exfoliation (for body): exfoliating gloves or korean italy towels are great for the body because they really scrub away the dead skin and you can use them with any soap.
*chemical exfoliation (for body): lactic acid lotion exfoliates and promotes cell turn over. it’ll get rid of hyper pigmentation and also make your skin baby soft and give you that rihanna glow (well, almost. she’s on a whole other level tbh) here’s a post on how to make your own.
*physical exfoliation (for face): i’m not a big fan on physically exfoliating the face but i love using a konjac sponge whenever i do. some people also like using facial scrubs or spin brushes.
*chemical exfoliantion (for face): ahas, bhas, and fruit enzyme exfoliants are all peels made to exfoliate the face. here’s a little more info on them and how to pick one best suited for your skin
-vitamin c serums are known for getting rid of hyper pigmentation, evening your skin tone and giving you a natural glow.
-melanie mills hollywood gleam body radiance can be used on the face and the body to give a glowy appearance. it’s also transfer proof so you don’t have to worry about it getting everywhere. mix with your body lotion or your facial moisturizer before applying for a natural, radiant glow that lasts.
-waxing your legs is always better than shaving and makes you look way smoother, but if you can’t wax for some reason don’t fret. if you want to shave your legs and have them still look smooth and glowy: soak your skin in warm/hot water for at least 10 minutes, exfoliate, then shave ALONG the hair growth with fresh new razor. once you’re done shaving get a loofah and scrub your legs again (be gentler this time, but still firm.) once you get out moisturize and put baby oil (ogx also has a argan oil of morocco dry oil that smells amazing and gives you a nice sheen as well) all over your legs.
-moisturize your skin every day. use shea butter or coconut oil alone or along with your lotion every time you get out the shower.
-use sunscreen ALL over every day, especially if you just exfoliated. it doesn’t matter how dark you are, everybody needs sunscreen to stay radiant & youthful looking.
-using rosehip oil and/or argan oil on the face gives a very moisturized, lit from within type glow.
-stay hydrated. if you’re dehydrated and not drinking enough water, it shows! keep a water bottle on you at all times and also up your intake of herbal teas and fruit juices.
-use aloe vera (preferably from the plant) on your face as a mask as well as drinking aloe water. it can help improve skin and make you look deeply moisturized and radiant.
-masturbate regularly. orgasms get your blood flowing and give you an all over glow.
-get a good amount of rest. when you’re sleep deprived it make your skin look dull and sallow. make sure you get at least 8 hours every night.
-do sheet masks regularly because they’re nice and juicy and you can rub the essence into your skin afterwards.
You know something? In Pinescone fics and art Dipper always gets different outfits but Wirt is always in his canon outfit? It gives me lots of motivation to draw Wirt in the most fashionable outfits.
Okay but imagine: To Be or Not to Be performed not as a soliloquy, but to an increasingly distressed and worried Horatio trying to comfort his friend (body language acting!!!)
Random Beauty Tips
Written By: Mel
- moisturise after your shower/bathe- try and use ones with the least amount of chemicals in them and avoid watery lotions as they tend to dry you out more. I usually use Johnson’s baby lotion as a body moisturiser.
- be sure to keep a small hand cream/sanitizer in your bag if you ever need to freshen up.
- use those small little sampler/roll on perfumes for on the go!
- if you don’t have the time or money for false nails, use a cuticle moisturiser, nail file, and basically any nail treatment to brighten and regain their strength.
- use a cotton t-shirt instead of a towel for your hair after a shower, it prevents frizz and damage and is, imo, much more comfortable.
- be rational with your hair products, don’t put hair treatments or deep conditioners in your hair too often because it can overpower your hairs own natural oils and turn it into a mess- unless it’s extremely damaged from dyeing then i would only use a hair treatment/deep conditioner around once a month to keep it fresh but still let the hair do its natural work.
- if you’re unsure about dyeing your hair, use hair chalks or semi-permanent hair dyes that only last a few weeks to see how you like them.
- don’t use so much hairspray, it’s too much hassle to get it all out in the shower!
- the best time to brush your hair is BEFORE a shower, that’s where it works best because dry hair isn’t as fragile as wet hair. besides your hair is much less tangled when it’s drying after a shower.
- speaking of brushing your hair, if you have curly/coily hair aim for a wide tooth comb and if you have fine, straight hair then go for a boar bristle brush.
- don’t always use the shampoo just because it smells the nicest, use one for your hair type or hair issue that helps it. there are plenty other ways your hair can smell divine by using essential oils or deep conditioners.
- for skin, the friendliest makeup that you can use is BB or CC creams, they’re light and let your skin breathe while still giving it a glow for the day.
- occasional face masks are great, especially during the winter when your skin is in need of hydration.
- you shouldn’t sleep with vaseline or coconut oil on your face, this clogs up pores and the vaseline can even dry your skin even more.
- only put coconut oil/vaseline on your eyelashes, eyebrows and lips for moisture and hair growth.
- change your pillow sheets more than regular, you don’t know how much bacteria is on your sheets (or switch to silk pillowcases if you can -Nat)
- use the 5 step rule in basic skin care: cleanse, exfoliate, tone, moisturise and protect like sunscreen. reminder that you should only exfoliate once a week.
- don’t use alcohol products on your skin, it does more harm than good! instead as an alternative, use rose water.
- lip gloss or bright lipstick is good for those with noticeable acne. it can distract people so you can go bare-faced with pink lips and you’ll most likely be complimented on your lips!
Let's get this straight, girls:
- Cardio: Required for fat loss. HIIT is said to be the most effective cardio for fat loss.
- Strength/Weight training: Required for toning and definition. You won’t get abs or lean-looking legs without strong muscles. Lift heavy.
- Good nutrition: Required for all of the above. Always remember, 70% diet, 30% exercise. Keep your intake in check.
- The “Beach Body” requires all three of these elements. No matter how much cardio you do, if you eat like shit and do no strength work, you will not get the toned, lean, slim body you are after. If you eat fantastically, but do zero exercise, your body won’t really do an awful lot of changing.
- It’s not easy, but it’s worth it:
